The World's Best Awards Top Urban Agriculture Companies of 2024
🏙️ Celebrating the Urban Agriculture Innovators of 2024
As cities continue to grow and green space becomes scarce, the need for sustainable urban agriculture has never been greater. The World’s Best Awards honors five trailblazing companies leading the charge in reimagining how we grow food in our cities—tackling challenges like food deserts, climate change, and the environmental toll of traditional farming.
🥇 AeroFarms – A pioneer in vertical farming, AeroFarms grows leafy greens and herbs indoors without soil or sunlight. Their method saves space, slashes water use, and delivers fresh produce straight to urban communities.
🥇 BrightFarms – Operating greenhouses close to major cities, BrightFarms provides fresh, pesticide-free vegetables year-round, cutting food miles and carbon emissions.
🥇 Gotham Greens – Masters of rooftop greenhouse farming, Gotham Greens turns unused city spaces into hubs for premium salads, herbs, and sauces—all grown with renewable energy and water-saving methods.
🥇 Infarm – Bringing farms directly into grocery stores, restaurants, and distribution centers, Infarm’s modular units produce ultra-fresh greens on-site, eliminating long supply chains and reducing food waste.
🥇 Sky Greens – Based in Singapore, Sky Greens’ rotating vertical towers use natural sunlight and hydraulic technology to grow leafy greens at scale, proving urban farming can flourish even in the most crowded cities.
These innovators are showing the world how technology, creativity, and sustainability can transform city farming—and inspire a greener, more resilient food future.
